Sorry for not following up with you. Could you do me a favor? Please go to http://www.sencha.com/products/architect/download? and make sure that you have the latest release of Architect. There have been a couple of bug fix releases that might get you past the problem you are seeing.
Non, this time it crashes just after showing login/password dialog, before I even click OK.
Please, take it seriously... We (people who try to bring ExtJS to this bank) are going to be in a funny situation if the Architect we have promoted so much crashes at startup during multiple months ( http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthread.php?259324 ) And of course it's impossible to remove the proxy - there are over 200 000 people behind it and the rest of software works fine with it.
Ok, I'll give a try tomorrow, but anyway it could be a solution for one person, not for a company. If you observe a better stability with classics theme, it means that you observe crashes with XP theme, right? Just fix them.
Another option is to prompt for manual proxy configuration (that works fine) before trying the automatic proxy discovery (that crashes).
Look, big companies are Sencha's biggest cliens. Most of big companies use proxy to secure/control internet browsing of their employees. If Sencha Architect is crashing with proxy since at least last 3 months, it means that the majority of your marketing efforts for the last 3 months are wasted (!!!) Just because people from those big companies willing to give a try see the Architect crashing and never comes back. Will you spend you time to report the problem for a product you are evaluating ?...
I love your products and hope that you keep becoming a rich entreprise...

At this moment browser asks for login/password, generates "Proxy-Authorization" token and issues the second request
For those experiencing a crash in Architect 2.2 on launch on Win XP when behind a network proxy (which probably requires authentication and/or a .pac proxy configuration file): we have a private build of Architect 2.2 that we believe fixes the problem. Please private message me (gil at sencha), and I'll send you a download link to try out. We've gotten some confirmation from users in the wild that it fixes the problem, but would like more.
The alternative workaround is to get us to generate you a user.license file (after you tell us your forum ID and network interface MAC address) which you then install. Then you disconnect from the network and launch architect. Then you can reconnect to your network.
