Unanswered: Pulling gmail emails to send bulk invitation mails

    Hi,

We are developing an application where the user needs his friends to the app by sending mail invitations. We are trying to pull contacts from google contacts by making him log in to his google account. How do we achieve this in sencha touch 2 because we need to redirect? There is no help available
    Regards

You need to authorize your user via google.

This link may get you started:

Nope, but hey maybe someone else is feeling really generous!

You will need to either create your own way of OAuth or use a javascript library and customize it. This isn't a simple task and you shouldn't expect someone to do it for you.

The link will tell you exactly how to implement the communication protocol, but everything after that is for you and your team to develop.

    Default redirection is the issue

    redirection is the issue

Since sencha apps are single page apps, the issue is with redirection. We are able to do this using a server side language like PHP. but in the front end when a user logs in to his google account then it expects a return url. i cannot return the user to the starting page. I hope you are getting the point.

Nope, not getting the point. Sencha apps are no less powerful than native apps.

Your solution is simple, but honestly, if you haven't figured it out yourself by now i doubt you'll be able to code it. Nonetheless, here it goes - past here if you can't code it it's your problem.

From Sencha open a new window for your login AND add a listener for when that window is closed.
The login window should redirect to a URL on your server where you are storing whatever variables the login window returns, and telling the user to close the window.
On closing the window, your app detects this, and communicates with your server to get the returned variables.

Sencha gives a good example of this flow in showing how to login to Facebook - this is not different in any significant way.

I've done it, others have done it, it can be done.
