    I pressed the "Upgrade CMD" button and got lots of errors, like the following:

    [ERR] com.sencha.exceptions.ExBuild: Mixed-Mode x-compile and microload markup is currently unsupported
    [ERR] at com.s
    [ERR] encha.command.environment.BuildEnvironment.execute(BuildEnvironment.java:245)

    Tell me more...

    What did you have in the form fields associated w/ Upgrade?

    Soon we'll have the about screen tell you what versions of Cmd, framework you're working with so that will be helpful

    Framework (tab)
    -----------------------

    Ext JS 4.2.x - Documentation URL:
    http://docs.sencha.com/ext-js/4-2/

    Custom framework path:

    That is all there is in this tab. I click on "Upgrade CMD" and I get the above errors.

    I get the same message, from cmd. When I run "sencha app build" after upgrading cmd from 3 to 4, and also upgrading the framework from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2.

    The upgrade failed, and I''m in the process of doing a manual upgrade (apparently not done yet ).

    Snippet from the logfile:

    I found that if I remove the js and css parts from app.json (the "genererated by SA do not edit parts"), then cmd works happily, and builds my project

    I've been testing this a tittle back and worth and currently I've found that I have to open app.json before every build and remove js and css resources that SA have added, before building with cmd.

    SA needs the resources defined to be able to use my custom css and locale js file in development/preview mode, but I have to remove them again to build.

    Oh man we have a bug I'm working on right now that malforms the app.json. Can you send me a copy of your app.json?

    Whenever I save now I get this file:
    Code:
    {
        "name": "BRes",

        "requires": [
    		"ext-locale"
        ],

        "id": "8c1f7089-9777-471a-95c9-50b8b32d6558"

    ,

        "js": [],

        "css": [
            // Architect generated... do not edit! //
            {
                "path": "resources/css/custom.css"
            }
            /////////////////////////////////////////
        ]
    }
    But when the project upgrade was done i saw a malformed version where the custom.css path was repeated 6-7 times, even after I deleted it from within SA IDE.

    My svn repo is currently offline, so I can't send you the pre-upgrade version right not

    My app.json is also messed up, lots of repeated things:

    PHP Code:
        "css": [

    // Architect generated... do not edit! //

    {

    "path""resources/style.css"

    },

    /////////////////////////////////////////
            // Architect generated... do not edit! //

    {

    "path""resources/style.css"

    },

    /////////////////////////////////////////
            // Architect generated... do not edit! //

    {

    "path""resources/style.css"

    }

    /////////////////////////////////////////

    Default Continuing Build Problems

    Continuing Build Problems

    Is the 'build web app' function supposed to be working in the new Beta build (1278)? It most assuredly is not working so I'm assuming this is an area still under development. It appears to have everything to do with the app.json file. With each save/deploy/build step, all JS and CSS directives are duplicated in the file. I think this is throwing the build process completely off and it fails every time. I can manually build the app using Sencha CMD at the command line, but only if I empty all contents of the app.json file (save for the "id" property). I tried deleting the app.json file altogether and the cmd process didn't like that at all. Architect did not recreate the file so I had to restore a backup copy. I edited the file just before I attempted to build it and removed all extraneous entries as mentioned above. Architect added back the entries and, again, the build failed. I think you're getting close to successfully implementing this feature, but it's not quite there yet. Can you confirm? Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

    One other question - what good is the app.json file? What purpose does it serve if the only way I can successfully build an app is to delete all the contents of this file? I'm not asking to be sarcastic...I would genuinely like to understand where the file is supposed to fit in the project framework.

    Thank You,
    M. McConnell

    We've been having issues with our app.json management. We're in the process of rewriting it. It will be simpler and so you'll lose the nice inline comments that Cmd generates for touch app.json. However it will be more reliable which is much more important. Next week we'll release it
