    Default Complex ToolTip

    Complex ToolTip

Hi.. i have been trying to understand all the available tool tip classes to implement a simple tooltip that contains (or can contain) other ext widgets.. like a button w icon. Im trying to implement a small rollover tooltip that contians a small button that then expands into a menu upon clicking to give more options... thanks..

a simple implementation to add items to say a tooltip defined for another item.. is what i am looking for... thanks in advance

be careful with doing HTML, etc inside the tooltips. improperly escaped double quotes " will cause headaches.

from my experience, ToolTips are template driven and do not natively allow complex components. I'd suggest using a reusable panel or something of the like. This way you could get much more functionality instead of having to build it.

    hmmmm.. that is true...

smhow i felt that just to render a 12x12 icon tht when clicked opens up a menu.. its too much work to have a complete panel.. or isnt it???

    absolutely not.

You can subscribe to the mouseover event to any one object, then show the dialog at the events.getXY() [mouse] coordinates

One thing to consider Ext.Tip extends panel.

I suppose you could look at extending Ext.Tip to show components.

    Sorry if i'm confusing you.

no not at all... and i had seen that tip , tooltip and even qtip are based on Panel down the line. This is what led me to belive tht adding ext elements or items wud be possible...
