    Exclamation Problem related to Ext.data.Store

    Problem related to Ext.data.Store

    Hi All,
I am new for Ext js library. So kindly help me out. I have downloaded 'ext-2.1.zip' file and unzipped it. But when I open edit-grid.html in browser, I am not getting any data from xml file to editable grid. Here I have unzipped it in my folder and didn't put in any server. Is the problem because I didn't put this application in server? If yes, which server, which type of configuration is required? If no, may I know how can I get proper data in grid? also Please provide some good documents or tutorial link for EXT js library.

    Regards,
    Gopal lal

You have to run it through a web server.

    Hi evant,
Thanks for your reply. Bt which server I should use? I have tried it with apache-tomcat-5.5.26. I have put this unzipped application in webapps folder and trying to get html pages, but unable to get it. Is there any other server is required or some other configuration is required?

Which server is not important for ext. Tomcat should be fine.

However, unzipping 'ext-2.1.zip' does not create a web application! This is more of a tomcat issue than an ext issue.

Check the tomcat documentation [1], the "Standard Directory Layout" section describes a WEB-INF directory with a web.xml file. Inclusion of web.xml in WEB-INF directory is the absolute minimum requirement for a web application. The "Web Application Deployment Descriptor" section has a link to an example web.xml file.
