Question Does extjs has cross table component

Does extjs has cross table component

    Hello All,

I am working on reporting stuff and I am planning to use extjs js as my GUI.
As extjs is cross browser and uses the AJAX, I want to exploit to make the reporting interface more interactive.

I am looking for two components which extjs does not have.
Here is what I am looking for
1.Column spanning for table headers so that I can have some column grouping as the tables are not always just a single column in reports and should be resizable
(Look for the table header pic)
2.Cross table like spread sheet component

Could any one point me is there any components like this. If not I like to build one or customize existing. Need some expert advice how difficult is this to do.

    Thanks,
    Man

    1. Column Spanning.

    Let me try:

Grouping by rows is absolutely possible, but not per column per sé. At least not in the direct way you're formulating. You could make these yourself however...

Grouping by rows can of course use a custom template for rendering. These can be based on your columns... Look at Ext.grid.GroupingView in the docs for more information.

IMHO I think that your requests can be transformed in a (relatively) easy to implement more-or-less standard Ext-based application, by finding other paradigm for the UI.
That way, you can have simple to understand widgets, that users are probably already familiar with and build an application in just a couple of weeks (easily).

    2. Cross Table

I'm not exactly sure as what you're up to, but one can take one grid and another and take results out of it (by querying their respective Ext.data.Stores) and use the results for other widgets or anything.

I am building a reporting GUI interface for our application. In some of our reports column grouping is very important as users want to see the columns grouped. Most of the reporting tables has this. I don't have any other option.

    Thanks

There's a FAQ, in it section for Grids, in it section for extensions, in it a host of possibilities, probably the one that Mystix has pointed to it listed in it.
