    Default Loading Json or XML data for Chart display using DirectPollMethod

    Loading Json or XML data for Chart display using DirectPollMethod

    I am trying to load either Json or XML data for Chart display using DirectPollMethod. I wonder if the following signature will work in DirectJNGine:

    Code:
    @DirectPollMethod( event="message")
    public OutputStream getReport(ReportParameters parameters) {
    return null;
    }
    I am not quite sure if the OutputStream return type will work in DirectJNGine and what would be the best return type in this case?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Actually Java Map is required for DirectPollMethod. So the code should be:
    Code:
    @DirectPollMethod( event="message")
    public OutputStream getReport(Map<String, Object> parameters) { return null; }
    It seems to me that streaming data out requires changing DirectJNGine Servlet. Is this correct?

    Default DirectJNgine 2.0 alpha 1 for ExtJs 4.0.x

    DirectJNgine 2.0 alpha 1 for ExtJs 4.0.x

    Regards !
    Sure

    You can get DJN 2.0 alpha 1 from http://code.google.com/p/directjngine/.

    DJN 2.0 alpha 1 has been tested against ExtJs 4.0.2, against the following browsers:

    - Internet Explorer: 8.0.6001.18702
    - Chrome: 12.0.741.122
    - Firefox: 5.0.1
    - Safari 5.1 (7534.50)

    Sorry for the delay, I just couldn't find time to perform all non automated tests until today, due to unexpected events -even though alpha 1 was finished more than a week ago.

    Changes
    You'll find that there have been little changes in the way form submit is handled, as old code that used to work with ExtJs 3.x did not work for ExtJs 4.x (too bad, it seems something changed in ExtJs code itself, breaking backwards compatibility). Now I'm favoring the "api:" way to perform a submit, just check the example code in FormPostDemo.java and FormPostDemo.js. Fortunately, the changes are absolutely minimal.

    Hey Pedro,

    I am currently looking into using DirectJNgine but do not see support for named arguments.

    Is this something that is in the works? If not, how difficult would it be to implement?

    Thanks in advance,

    Omar

    Does the 1.3 version support ExtJS 3.4.x? (I saw an explicit reference to supporting ExtJS 3.2 but want to confirm it works with 3.4 before we begin.

    Also, how easy do you expect the transition to be from 1.3 to 2.0? It may be awhile before we move to ExtJS 4 but I want to get an idea how difficult it will be to migrate DirectJNgine code as well.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Default Google app exception with STREAMED

    Google app exception with STREAMED

    Hi pagullo,

    This is a very complete package. Thanks for your work!!

    I am trying to use it with google app engine and extjs 4.0.2a. I have completed the installation and it works for the demo code as well as extjs direct demos. However when I was trying to do DjnTests.html, the automatic tests did not go through and the server side threw exceptions like:

    WARNING: /djn/directprovider/poll/test_pollWithBaseParams
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: STREAMED
    at org.mortbay.jetty.Request.getReader(Request.java:935)
    at com.softwarementors.extjs.djn.servlet.DirectJNgineServlet.processRequest(DirectJNgineServlet.java:621)

    Based on this web page:
    http://groups.google.com/group/google-web-toolkit/browse_thread/thread/b22c0ef8946082b0

    I
    t seems that the cause is due to simultaneously using response.setContentType() and response.getWriter() in DirectJNgineServlet.processRequest(). The suggested fix, according to the google page, is to use response.getOutputStream() instead of response.getWriter(). However, I am wondering why it worked with all the other demo/tests. Would you please take a look at the issue? Thanks.

    Google app exception with STREAMED

    Following posts produced 500 STREAMED errors:

    djn/directprovider/poll/test_pollWidthBaseParams
    djn/directprovider/poll/myProgramaticPollMethod

    and some

    djn/directprovider

    In all these cases the request header have content-type=application/x-www-form-urlencoded and the posts are parameter=value pairs.

    The posts that are successful are
    /djn/directprovider
    all of which have content-type=application/json and posts are json objects.

    Could anyone explain why?

    The DJN version 2.0 alpha implements the 'named arguments' example application provided by the Sencha guys.

    I think support for 'named arguments' in version 2.0 is enough, just check it to take a look at how it works, please.

    Hmm. I think this is related to incompatible changes in some specific version of Google App Engine, as all of these tests work with the Google App Engine version I use. Or it might be due to some configuration problem.

    Please, check whether using the Google App Engine version enclosed with the DJN test app solves the problem, if possible.
