I recently had a problem with cross domain scripting and would like some clarification. I understand that I should not be doing cross domain scripting but how does the browser handle cross domain scripting when it occurs?

I assumed that it would not execute the url but in my extJS application the url was executed and json data sent back to the browser. The only problem was that the data was not displayed in my application. So I assumed that since the server request was received and data sent back everything should work but I was wrong. So I would like to understand how this process works in a extJS application.

Thanks,
Simon
