Default Unanswered: Ext-Core to Bootstrap ExtJS

    Unanswered: Ext-Core to Bootstrap ExtJS

Hi all... I've been using ExtJs for some while now and I love it. But we've gotten to a point where we are trying to eek every little bit of performance possible out of our page render times. and as great as the ExtJs framework is, it is a huge performance hit due to its size. I'm interested to know if I should anticipate any problems on using Ext-core for initial loading (most page wouldn't need much more than ext-core to initiate menu's and what not) and then later in the lifecycle dynamically bootstrap the rest of the ExtJs framework so that I can benefit from Ext.Direct, Ext.Window, etc.... any help on the matter would be appreciated.

    Thanks

This is actually something we've been looking at in the last week. Ext Core is just a subset of Ext JS, so it's possible to split the files up into a Core file and a non-Core file - you can load the Core file and then pull down non-Core at any future point.

Initial tests seem to show this working well - I'll update this thread as soon as we have a public solution.

This would be great. I might use the global google ajax copy of core if this goes forward (and initExtCss used addClass rather than directly manipulating as per this thread).
