All but the system tray can be done with flash.

What? Let's see the list from the first post...

- Read/Write Local and temporary files on the client machine

Not possible with Flash. You can use Cookies, but no files.

- Get directory listings on client machine

Not possible with Flash.

- Perform HTTP POST/GET operations across domains and get the results

Only possible with a crossdomain.xml on each machine. So I would say generally: No.

- Create native 'system tray' menus with callbacks into your javascript.

Not possible with Flash.

What's the point? We're talking about Fash in the browser and of course it is not allowed to have file access here. This differs for standalone or Air apps, of course.

Exactly, and it shows the problem with the certificates (in fact it doesn't have a valid one).
