ExtJS IE8 / IE7 under RDC (Remote Desktop Connection): thick borders+invisible resize
ExtJS IE8 / IE7 under RDC (Remote Desktop Connection): thick borders+invisible resize
ExtJS IE8 / IE7 under RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) looks wierd: thick borders and if you try to resize it the hole window become invisible during resize.
My OS: Windows 7
Remoting to a Windows Server 2008 R2 without Aero themes enabled, windows classic skin, no Remote Desktop Services installed.

Url to try: http://qwiki.4ju.eu/ or http://www.extjs.com/deploy/dev/exam...p/desktop.html
Any ideas how to fix these problems?

http://qwiki.4ju.eu/ Using this URL works fine for me,
no thick border or whatsoever. In remote desktop connection the problem can be the settings, since RDC usually disables features (lower colordepth etc.).
Does the url work at your desktop, or does it show the strange borders as well?Happy Programming!

That looks like you have some stale CSS from a recent upgrade. Clear the cache and do a hard refresh if you are sure you updated your resources.

No cache problem
No cache problem
No, there is no cache problem as it occurs on both sites I have mentioned.
http://qwiki.4ju.eu/ and http://www.extjs.com/deploy/dev/exam...p/desktop.html
It only occurs to IE7 and IE8.
Safari, Opera, Chrome and Firefox are all good.
I've tried with all the possible settings for the RDC e.g all checked, all not checked etc.
On the resize problem I think it has to do with the way IE renders things under remote desktop i.e. maybe alpha transparency is not supported therefore the whole window goes white.
Can't say why the thick borders & weird shadow appear though.

Weird
Weird
It must be your machine or it's settings..
Because when I connect using RDC (windows 7 to windows 7)
and run IE8 on my Windows 7 @ home (to which i have connected from school)
it works fine.. So my guess is that your RDC (apparently) doesn't support, as you
say, some css properties. Have you tried changing your RDC settings:
Experience tab -> Connection: High-Speed(or more)
allow, visual styles, persistent bitmap caching and stuff..
Display tab: Colors Highest Quality..
Maybe this solves the problem, but i'm not sureHappy Programming!

2008 Server R2 - not Windows7
2008 Server R2 - not Windows7
It might be the mighty windows, of course, but I'm connecting to a Windows Server 2008 R2.
It's a 64GB ram server where all the developers works on it.
The Remote Desktop Services are not installed. The settings are the default ones.
The settings on the RDC client are the highest. Everything is checked. 32bpp etc.
Interesting is why this happens only on resizeable windows.

Hmm then i'm clueless.. Any problems with other (javascript) sites / apps?
You might consider talking to the server admin about it? I've seen some appservers
where some stuff was disabled, which made my ajax/javascript app work incorrect.. Just a thought ;-)Happy Programming!
