Hi All,

When I create a panel I use the contentEl in the config class.

var elContent = document.createElement("div");
var panel = new Ext.Panel({ contentEl: elContent });

Now i can start adding content into the content div even though the panel has not been rendered. I like this as I don't have to subscribe to the render event. I would like to be able to do the same thing with the footer like:

var elContent = document.createElement("div");
var elFooter = document.createElement("div");

var panel = new Ext.Panel({ contentEl: elContent, footerEl: elFooter });

elFooter.innerHtml = "this is my footer...";

I don't really see how I can do this in the API. applyTo looks promising but I seem to have a few hoops that I need to jump through and I figured that there must be an easier way. Is this possible or am I going to have to subscribe to the render event or use applyTo? I also do not want to use footerCfg.

Thank in advance!
