    What is the ION project?


    Where can I find more information on the ION product? I saw that Jay mentioned it in one of his presentations.

    The ION that gurufaction is talking about is not for screening experiments but it is the foundation on which the Ext Designer is build upon. It is a C++ application build with Nokia's Qt (and WebKit, which is part of Qt) that can host an (semi?) offline Ext Application. Think of it as Adobe Air or Appcelerator Titanium. But ION seams to not have a security sandbox as Adobe Air has and seams to encrypt/sign the ExtJS Application on the disk. That's important for closed source projects like the Ext Designer.

    As far as I know Ext JS, Inc. has yet to announce details about ION and its general availability.

    Project ION was briefly mentioned again at SenchaCon 2011. Where can we get more information on the project?
