Refresh accordian layout after panel hide?

Hi gang,
I'm trying to refresh a panel with accordian layout after calling hide() on one of its children panels.
The child panel disappears fine, but there is a blank bar where it used to be.

Calling toppanel.doLayout() on the accordian panel does not refresh its layout.

Any tips how to do this?

Turns out, the trick here is panel.doLayout(false,true)
