Sencha on the Road: Fall 2011

The Fall 2011 conference season is warming up, and so we’re out on the road again. Conferences and meetups are a great chance for us to come out and meet our community, and to show off what we’ve spent the summer working on.

You won’t be surprised to learn that HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and mobile web apps are hot topics right now. And it’s no co-incidence that our calendar is pretty full. Here are some of the highlights, and the places where you’ll be able to see us over the next few months.

The season kicks off this week, in the Bay Area, with Mobile 2.0. This is a long-established mobile event, and we’re thrilled to be involved, both in the mobile web panel and as event sponsors. A highly recommended event (and get a third off the entry using the code ‘friends‘).

Two weeks later, we head south to Nashville, for the second Breaking Development conference, a mobile event that’s already building up a great reputation. The line-up for this event is awesome — a veritable who’s-who of web and mobile design and development — and we’re proud to be involved, running a Sencha Touch workshop on the second day. A quick hop across the pond, and we’re in London on the 16th September for Carsonified’s prestigious Future of Mobile conference, where we’ll be discussing cross-platform mobile web apps and generally ranting about HTML5. Again, this should be a great event, with some great speakers, and you can grab yourself 10% off the registration with the code ‘FOM-10‘. Their strapline asserts that the future is “in your hands”. Indeed!

In late September and October, you’ll catch us at a number of partner events. We’re excited to be speaking at, and attending Adobe Max — catch us at our booth there. Ariya Hidayat is speaking at Intel’s AppUp Elements, and we’ll be showcasing our BlackBerry skillz at RIM’s DevCon Americas event later in the month.

Michael Mullany is speaking at HTML5 Dev Conf in San Francisco, and over on the east coast, October also sees us hit the Web 2.0 Expo in New York for a three hour app development workshop. Oh, and then apparently there’s a thing down in Austin… don’t tell us we didn’t tell you SenchaCon 2011 is going to be amazing this year!

Moving into November, and you’ll be able to see us at HTML5 Live in New York (use code ‘pear50‘ for a discount), Android DevCon II in the Bay Area, and QCon SF. If you’re looking for great conferences to plan ahead for, these come highly recommended.

But at Sencha, it’s not all about big conferences though, and we’re always excited to be involved with meetups, hackathons and grassroots events too. AT&T’s regular hackathons are always a lot of fun, and after Chicago this weekend, we’re looking forward to Atlanta, San Francisco and Orlando over the coming months. Our community meetup teams are busy around the world, and you’ll find us in person at many, including the SF ExtJS, BAM, and MobileCloud events. We’ll be at Silicon Valley Code Camp as well, of course — and even at Ben & Dion’s Mobile Tech Talks tonight, if you’re in the area…
