access to local videos and images

Hi,
is there a possibility to get access to local stored images and videos on the iPad to play or show it with sencha touch ?

The local stored images or videos are copied via iTunes on the iPad.

I don't think that is possible, unless you run the Sencha Touch app locally (not from a server). But for that I believe you need to wrap it in something like PhoneGap. But if you managed it, or find a good alternatives, please post it here.
