Look at the rendered HTML in Firebug to see what that class is applied and if the right one - you may need to target a different element.

Often the backgrounds in ExtJS are images.
If you try to change the background color for a image-background-class, it won't work, because the background image is over the background color.
Use FireBug to locate the class. and remove/replace the bg-image.

Hy tryanDls

What means "class is applied and if the right one"?

In my case the css class is x-toolbar x-small-editor testCss x-toolbar-layout-ct .I can change the background image from base class x-toolbar from ext-all.css , but this will change it for all other toolbars and i do not want that..i just want to change the background image or color for my current toolbar.

Also i replaced background-color with background-image in my testCss but steel does not work.

What else should i try?

Thanks

Override 'background-image' in css. Add !important; to the end to make sure this is the overriding style. Then apply your colour to the class and again you ay as well put in !important to make sure!.
