Hello,

I tried the following ExtJS example with IE8 and FF:

http://dev.sencha.com/deploy/dev/examples/form/dynamic.html

With FF everything works as expected. With IE8 (and I also tried it with IE9 beta) it is not usable. The problems begin already when entering the message box. With FF the text-align left button is activated with IE8 not. The longer you try to format a text with IE the more confused you get. I attached some pictures to show the "initial" differences. I entered the text exactly the same way. I also tried for example to select a text color. With FF the text shows in the color from that point i picked the color. Even the cursor changed its color. With IE nothing happened. I could only mark a text and change that color... very strange...

I might be wrong. Maybe somebody can explain me how to get this control work correctly under IE8. I would love to use it...

Thanx

Hi again,

I wonder if it would be possible to integrate TinyMCE (http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/index.php) into ExtJS. It seems that I'm not the only one who is thinking about this:

I would rather like to use the ExtJS component though... Any solution on this?

That's a know issue. Pressing Enter in the HtmlEditor will insert a <br/> in IE and a <p> in all other browsers.

You'll have to search: IIRC somebody posted a patch that catches the Enter key in IE and inserts a <p> instead.
