Hi all,

I am starting a project which requires graphs, charts to be displayed to the user.
Performance is the key aspect I need to take care of while displaying charts and other graphs.

I would like to know the pros and cons of using ExtJS charts over FusionCharts.
Some of the items I could able to gather are:

ExtJS Charts ------------ FusionCharts
No flash plugin required --- flash plugin required
Very few charts/graphs --- Lots of charts and graphs to choose from
??

Please pour your thoughts on this. I am novice in this area.

Thanks,
Vinni

Ext JS 3.x charts do require Flash!

Ext JS 4 (beta to be released in about 6 weeks) will support SVG/Canvas/VML charts.

Thanks Condor.
Could you please add more pros and cons of using ExtJS over FusionCharts?

I know talking about cons in ExtJS forum won't be easy!

ExtJS charts will be ExtJS Components ready to slot into a layout and be sized and positioned by layout managers.

ExtJS charts will be driven by native ExtJS data Stores with configuration options instructing them which field names to access from the Store's Records ("Models" in Ext 4)

It will be very easy to integrate them into an ExtJS application because they are integrated into ExtJS.

How about performance comparison between ExtJS Charts and FusionCharts??

I need to fetch data from a HW device and display on user interface.

I don't know enough about FusionCharts, so I can't comment on that.
