View Full Version : placing html content help

Hi All,

I'm pretty new to Sencha Touch so please forgive me if this a common question. I'm working on a pretty simple app that is inspired by USA Today's app. It's meant to be essentially a news paper like reader. I have my layout built the way I like with panels (see screen shot (http://www.clay-communications.com/jamie/newsscreen.jpg), the colored areas are my different panels). I'm able to place my masthead image through the basic "html" command for a panel easily enough. But for the text/layout content I want to link to an external html file so the content is not placed directly in the app. Is there a way to do this?

I'm so new I'm just not sure exactly what method to use, Ideally I'd like to link right to an html file and format it with css but I can't see how to do that. It seems like I could use data structures too and build a tpl (?) but that seems like overkill if I can just like to an already formatted html file.

Any help or suggestions are welcome.

Maybe I'm asking the wrong question. What is the best way to fill an empty panel with formatted text and graphics content like this (http://clay-communications.com/jamie/app1.jpg) (I'm most interested in the right side of the screen) and this (http://clay-communications.com/jamie/app2.jpg)?

You'd be best off using a DataView for that. Set up the tpl for each item and away you go.

Cool, thanks for the lead. I'll give it a try.
