View Full Version : Developing with Sencha Touch and Phone Gap using Windows

26 Jan 2011, 2:10 PM

I couldn't find a post on this using the search and there is too many to go through manually, so here it goes.

I am building a Card Game for iphone or any other touch phone using windows. What I am having problem with is finding clear step by step instruction which tell you how to set up Sencha Touch framework with an IDE.

Also there are some recommendation flying about different Forums regarding which IDE to use in Windows. But no one has made clear suggestions as to why the "mentioned" IDE should be used or how to set up Sencha Touch on it. I would also like to use PhoneGap along side Sencha Touch; amazing there is clear instruction on how to set it up with xcode on mac, however nothing for PC.

In summary what I need is:

Step by Step instruction on how to set up

- Sencha Touch + Phone Gap on a good IDE (e.g. Eclipse with Aptana, Aptana, Dreamweaver, NetBeans?) on a Windows environment.

By good IDE I mean that has "resharper" style helper, or auto code complete, highlight, and recognizes js, css3, and html5 code without any issues, would also be good if it could connect to db and server.

Help would be really appreciated, the sooner the better, as I need to make haste on this project.

Thank you in Advance,

Alex W

The PhoneGap wiki (http://wiki.phonegap.com/w/page/16494772/FrontPage) is probably what you are looking for, I used articles off here to get my Eclipse + PhoneGap Android working. There isn't anything special you need to do to include sencha, and in fact the PhoneGap android plugin (http://wiki.phonegap.com/w/page/34483744/PhoneGap-Eclipse-PlugIn-for-Android) has an option to include it in its new project screen.

Thank you zl1n0x, I will give this a shot. Just out of interest if I follow this instructions and set the development environment up for Android, will the game work with iphone?

*Push* Hey,

since this questions is also important for me, would the android-configuration directly work for iPhone too?

Thanks in advance

Did you find any solution to use Phone gap on windows platform instead of Mac-Os with X-code.
