Hi!

Ext.Direct (for ExtJS3) has some issues, and in old bug reports I got told that the architecture will change. Is that still true? Or will Ext.Direct stay the same?

We are planning a big open-source implementation for ExtJS 4 and so we wanna be sure that we are aware of everything.

thx

There will be a few new features coming to Direct in the Ext 4.x product line. However, most of the underlying architecture will be the same.

Could you please link me to some of the problems you are having to see if we can get them addressed?

Same here.

I can't find the DirectStore in ext4, will it be reintroduced in a later (pr) version? Or is is replaced by something else?

Hi!

There are some issues about consistancy and sending requests, e.g. here: http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthread.php?68528-OPEN-78-enableBuffer-doesn-t-build-the-correct-queue

Also there can be problems when e.g. someone creates an record and then edits it before the first result comes back, then the server doesn't know to which id it belongs. And so on.

We tried to lay out some solutions on top of Ext.Direct, but it would be more elegant if it would be right in Ext.Direct.
Here are some thought from us (just look at the consistancy slides): http://www.slideshare.net/RolandSchuetz/extcake-working-draft-7033696

best regards,
Roland

Hmm, I just went looking for it too and can't find it, or more importantly Ext.data.DirectProxy.

Expect to see DirectProxy and DirectStore show up in one of the upcoming releases.

Will there be a new spec somewhere?
