go to border layout example
http://dev.sencha.com/deploy/ext-4.0-pr3/examples/layout/border.html

collapse east region

click on collapsed east title bar:
You notice that the right border is frequently drawn while animation, which looks very flickery.

There's no border drawing. It's just Element.slideIn('l')

ok, but there is a jumping border, you see it?

No I don't. The only animation is the region's wrapper element animating leftwards, and expanding rightwards at the same rate.

The region Panel itself is positioned left:0 within that, so it appears to slide in.

Nothing gets redrawn at all.

I now checked it in different browsers

East region slidein/slideout:
In FF4 it's the right border that flickers, the left border moves smooth
in Chrome and Safari the right border is smooth, but left border flickers.

I don't see it as a big issue, it only doesn't look nice.

I think it's a z-index issue. The animation is expanding the wrap which obscures the left margin of the placeholder. Then it moves the wrap left which exposes it again.

Placeholders need to be above slide-ins. I'll fix that.
