View Full Version : Expense Logger app

Say I'm trying to make an expense logger app with the following structure:

|- Food
|--- Groceries
|--- Eating Out
|- Entertainment
|--- Events
|--- Movies
|--- Hobbies
|- Transport
|--- Fuel
|--- Public Transport

Once a path/branch is decided, there will be a form consisting questions related only to this path. For example, if I choose Transport->Public Transport, there might be a form with the following fields:
- radio button group for: bus, train, tram, taxi or other
- a text area for description or purpose
- a text field for price

Once the form is filled out, I want to come up with a summary of the form, as well as their path selection.

I'm thinking at this stage to use NestedList for the decision tree, and then use tabbed forms for the questionnaire. I have looked into LocalStorageProxy to persist data storage (though I haven't fully worked out how this works). Later I would like to have the app send automatic emails for every submissions.

Can anyone confirm if this is possible or if I'm on the right track?
Are there any suggestions or other ways to achieve this easily?
Does anyone know where to get more sample codes for sencha apps, other than the kitchen sink?

Thanks in advance.

What does this error mean?

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'getRootNode' of undefined
I'm trying to implement the NestedList for the first part of this app.

Solved - it was incorrect ordering of files include on index.html. The correct order is: app.js, models, stores and then views.

How very annoying, 1.5 days spent being misled thinking it was a coding problem. Anyways, glad I got it now.
