My first Sencha Touch app has launched in the iTunes store. It's a silly kids app but it works well and shows off some of the basic Sencha Touch functionality.

I'm very excited to say the least. Thanks, Sencha, for the kick-ass framework.

Thanks, Kevin. It's slowly picking up momentum. It's only been on the market for a week and it has 40 downloads. Though I'm most impressed with its global reach. Outside of the U.S. it has sold in UK, France, Mexico, Sweden, Italy, and Australia. So I'm happy with that.

It's not a mind-blowing app, either. It's just a silly kids app, primarily for testing the waters as I work on a cache of more serious apps. That said, I dedicated myself to the integrity of this app all the same. My kids truly love it and it appears that other kids do, too.

Really nice :D
Just for information after a few weeks, how the downloadings are going ?

Slowly, but I don't really promote it so it's just floating in the store. It was really a test app to see how Sencha Touch would work, get familiar with the app-submission process, and to entertain my own kids.

But it gets around 5 downloads per day which is pretty good for an app that's just sitting there. And because of some feedback I received I'm working on a far more robust version for tablets. It's going to have a lot of really nice custom illustrations, some animation, and even sound effects.

So I'm looking forward to putting out that new version soon.

Thanks for taking the time to compliment the app, by the way. It means a lot.

Hi Mark,

Did you use PhoneGap for your app?

I sure did. I'm also using it for a more complex app that's nearly completion. I didn't use any of PhoneGap's API for Creature Mixup, only to package it for devices. But as I get into its API for these new apps I'm finding it's a really nice setup. The folks over there are really helpful, too.
