I can create a Sencha text input in HTML like this: (copied from their Kitchen Sink)

<div id="ext-comp-1093" class="x-field x-field-text x-field-required x-label-align-left">
<div class="x-form-label" id="ext-gen1243" style="width: 35%; ">
<span>Name</span>
</div>
<div class="x-form-field-container">
<input id="ext-gen1240" type="text" name="name" class="x-input-text" placeholder="Tom Roy" autocapitalize="on">
</div>
</div>

Is there an elegant way in JavaScript to get the value of the input field using Sencha? Is there a way to use .getValue? (I'm using Touch, if it makes any difference.)
