Trying to set-up a border layout. I want to break up the west region to have different regions with it. Tried looking for examples in the forum and online and really couldnt find any. Here is my code, problem is the east and west sub regions within the west region are not displaying side by side.

var displayPanel = new Ext.Panel({
id: 'main_panel',
width : 1100,
height : 700,
layout : 'border',
renderTo : 'box_main',
margin: '15 0 0 10',
items : [
{
region: 'west',
width: 300,
xtype: 'panel',
border: false,
split: true,
items:
[
{
region: 'west',
html: '<div>west</div>',
xtype: 'panel'
},
{
region: 'east',
html: '<div>east</div>',
xtype: 'panel'
}
]
},
{
id: 'content-container',
region: 'center',
border: false,
xtype: 'panel',
width: 700,
html: '<div>center</div>'
},
{
id: 'east-container',
region: 'east',
border: false,
xtype: 'panel',
width: 400,
items: [Ext.getCmp('mainForm')]
}
]
});
