View Full Version : Window Outside bounds of viewport

I have created a program that is fairly complex, with this complexity I must add a way for the users to become familiar with the program itself so I have developed some 'training' videos. I have the video part working perfectly but the problem I am having that I never noticed before is the inability to move a new window object outside of the view port. A lot of my users will have dual monitors or run my program in a split screen set-up. I want them to be able to open up the training video and move it outside of their browser window so that they can walk through the program and view the video at the same time.

Is there a way that I can detach a window object from the view port so that it can be moved outside the constraints of the browser? I got all excited when I quickly discovered the setConstrain method, but sadly it doesn't work exactly how I would like it to. I know that I could redirect to a different URL and open a new browser window to achieve this, but frankly that would be a pain in the butt, and who needs more tabs open anyways!

Thank you in advance!

You can do something like this only in internet explorer (8 as I can see): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms536392%28VS.85%29.aspx
