View Full Version : Combining Carousel and TabPanel

We are looking to create several screens that require a mix between a Carousel and a TabPanel, such that there are screens that will be shared between the two sets of controls. So, for example, the Carousel will let you swipe between screens A, B, and C, while the TabPanel would allow direct button access to screens A, B, C, D, and E.

We've tried using a Carousel with a normal Toolbar at the bottom, but the buttons are formatted differently, which isn't acceptable in this particular case.

We're looking into an Ext.tab.Bar, but aren't encouraged by the warning message that it is a private class.

We're considering nesting a Carousel inside the TabPanel and managing some of the page changes through events, but this looks pretty complex, and we would have some issues with making the buttons fetch the right values from the views correctly.

Has anyone done this or are there any suggestions about which of these approaches (or another approach) would be better?

Ext.tab.Bar is marked as private only because it's meant to be used in Ext.tab.Panel but nothing is stopping you from using it elsewhere. It's not going anywhere.

I'm trying to do the same thing. Have you come up with any code you wouldn't mind sharing?
