View Full Version : no totalProperty for pagination

I'm using a postgres db with a table that contains a large number of records that are used to track history. This table can grow quite large and therefor it can be quite expensive to calculate the total number of records in the table.

I want to show these records in a gridpanel and use the built in pagination to navigate.

Are there any best practices or suggestions on how to deal with this in extjs 4? I didn't see anything built into store or grid that might support this by default.

thanks

Best thing to do is send back a total number in your response so the widgets know how many pages to work with.

Thanks, but the point of this post is that I am unable to send back a total record count for this table due to record size.

It looks like I will be over-riding paging toolbar functionality.

What's the point of paging if you don't have a finite number of records? Perhaps a different solution altogether?
