View Full Version : Want tutorials that pull data from server side

As a new user I'm finding Sencha touch an extremely tough mountain to scale.
I'm struggling to get a table displayed with this framework and what is frustrating is that the page is blank.no errors even with Fiddler. So there is something very simple that I'm missing but can't figure out what that is.
I feel there is a dearth of reasonable tutorials.
Any body here if you can provide some tutorials with server side interactions it would be excellent.Otherwise lesser mortals will always have the impression that Sencha touch is untouchable :-(

What are you looking for exactly? And can you copy and paster the bit of code where you're struggling?

Anyway, you can find a lot of examples in the sencha docs. You have several ways to get data from a server: from a web service or a simple PHP/ or whatever server side language page that returns some JSON or XML.

You can then grab these information thanks to an Ext.Ajax.Request or a store using a proxy with Ajax or JSON-P.

But, you will find some useful information there:
http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/#!/guide/ajax (http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/#%21/guide/ajax)
http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/#!/api/Ext.data.proxy.JsonP (http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/#%21/api/Ext.data.proxy.JsonP)
http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/#!/api/Ext.data.proxy.Ajax (http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/#%21/api/Ext.data.proxy.Ajax)

Hope this helps,
