View Full Version : Request about an App made with ST2 and PhoneGap that uses device API

Hello Sencha,

I'm "playing" with ST2 since some months and I think it is really a great job... until you go to native...

I'm frustated by all the step need to move from webapp (working into my Browser) to a native app (working into my Device).

It tooks me 1 week to create a nice app, and 2 week to build a native package and I'm still stuck.

Your framework is great, but I think it is useless (for me) if I'm unable to submit to an App Store.

I beg you to give a full example (all files and folders into a zip) that can become native with this simply command: "sencha app build native". The app should use all device.* api implemented in ST2 and should include also PhoneGap js.

Until that I think it is to hard to make it work. I repeat: ST2 is great but make it easy to make the native app!

http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/#!/guide/command (http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/#!/guide/command) tells nothing about phonegap and native

I'm not talking about a build guide, we assume build stage is successfull.

http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/#!/...tive_packaging (http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/#!/guide/native_packaging) is outdated

I think a working example (that uses device.* APIs) with a ready to use zip would be a great help!

By this way the user could see what he must produce to make native app really working.

At this moment, It seems that a working native iOS/Android app that uses device.* API could NOT be created with ST 2.0.1 and SDK Beta3.

Thanks, regards.

I don't think many device APIs are part of this framework. As you mentioned, PhoneGap helps bridge the gap to connect to some of the native device API, however out of 'sencha app build native', you get the functionality of the basic Sencha Touch site that works on the native device, but I think ST has only a few device APIs http://docs.sencha.com/touch/2-0/guide/native_apis
