Hi all,
I'm a newbie using this great yui-ext tools.
I'm have trouble understanding how gridpanel works.
I'm using contentpanel now and it doens't fill the grid for the rest of my container.
I know the gridpanel would solve the issue.
But I spend a couple of hours looking around the forum and still couldn't figure out how to convert contentpanel to grid panel.

Would any one please post an example or teach me how to do it?

Thanks!!!

There's a perfectly good example in the forums. Here's the link.

you are not converting a ContentPanel. You use the GridPanel instead of using the ContentPanel:

yourLayout.add('the region of the layout', new YAHOO.ext.GridPanel(yourGrid, {title: 'my GridPanel title', closable: true}));

I got it, thanks guys.

The gridpanel fills with empty grid colum for the blank spaces, but do not fill empty rows in the horizontal blank area.

Is there any way to do it?

Thanks again!

There was a thread on this a while back. The initial implementation was to add blank rows to the grid, however if sorting is implemented, the blank rows end up at the top. I'm not sure if anyone came up with another alternative. I would suggest searching for GridPanel and see if you can find it.
