Hi

I'm new to Sencha Charts and learning. I found the usage of xField and yField of Bar and Column Chart to be confusing. In the examples given both the charts' xField refers to same store field. For ex., in Bar chart, for x axis, referred value is being plotted along y axis while with the same config in Column chart is plotted along x axis.

Please help me understand this. Thanks in advance.

Taking the column charts as a default, y-axis is the values for each item
When you move to the bar chart, the same follows .. you are just turning the chart on it's side

The difference is position: bottom, or left

Thank you for clarifying. If I understand you correctly the column chart's xField plots to x axis while in bar chart it plots to y axis (axis config of bar chart is being bottom). Is this analysis correct?

If you follow the rule, 'Y' to the sky, then yes.

Scott.
