What to know a best practice to override the Ext.panel.Panel. Need to add 4 span around the panel. as the attachment.

Digged to find the js file to find dom structure rendering code but there was lot of extends and now in Ext.AbstractComponent /:) but cant able to find the place where the dom for the panel is created. What is the best way to achieve this . The main reason for trying to override the panel is, required all the functionality of the panel plus this four span around it.

Is this can be achieved only by editing the default dom or it can be done some way by extending panel?

How about hooking into one of the events on the panel?

only on event will make this span visible, but want to render it invisible initially itself.
Even on event how can we render the dom around it more efficiently .
