View Full Version : Is there a time delay between ajax requests?

I have a strange one. I am watching the Net tab in FF as I make some saves in my webpage.

The save makes 3 PUTs via async (default) ajax.

The timings are terrible, but there seems to be a common denominator:

request 1, takes < 100 ms
request 2, takes 100ms + 100 ms + 500 ms
request 3, takes 100ms + 100ms + 100ms + 500 ms + 500 ms

And it appears they are queued instead of being threaded, like you'd expect to see say 3 images to come down.

I can live with the 100ms which looks like the actual round trip time, but where are the 500ms coming from? Is Ext adding a fixed delay between ajax requests? I've logging in my server and at least the method is completing in just a few ms.

Apparently a default behaviour of the asp.net pipeline for multiple requests of the same web session described here... http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9625268/how-to-reduce-eliminate-wait-time-latency-in-ajax-request
