View Full Version : Customising the default layout

I want to add logos to the left hand outline panel, and also introduce a panel at the top of the screen for additional navigation. Is this easily achieved using ext.nd or do I have to start hacking away at the js files?

Right now it will take a bit of JavaScript to tweak the layout, we intend to work on a simpler way to change it about in the future.

DominoUI is really just an example implementation. Take a look at this file and you can easily make a couple of tweaks to add in a 'north' panel or to tweak the 'west' panel.

Back onto this. I can't easily work out how to add the North panel. I simply want to load it with a page from the database. I've checked out other examples in the forum but they are from 2007 and the code looks different. Any chance someone could show me a working example?

Hey Aidan,

We're getting really close to getting the next release out and this task becomes super easy, with the changes I've worked in. My recommendation is to hold out just a bit cause custom layouts in the current version is not such an easy thing to accomplish.

Check at Complexe layout (http://www.extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53060).

and at Edit document open new IE window (SOLVED) (http://www.extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53150)

it could be a good start.

Be awared that some part of the code have to be transformed as computed text
