View Full Version : Change zIndex range of Ext?

Is there a way to define the range from which Ext should choose z-indeces for things?

Reason I ask is it currently picks ranges of around 18000 + and which it's not insurmountable, it's a pain to change the indexing of an entire platform around this when it was Ext that was late to the party.

Check ZindexManager

Ext.define('Ext.ZIndexManager', {
alternateClassName: 'Ext.WindowGroup',

statics: {
zBase : 9000

getNextZSeed: function() {
return (Ext.ZIndexManager.zBase += 10000);

OK cool. So here's the tricky bit. I have a header nav menu (not Ext controlled) that sits at z-index 1050. I need modal window masks to be > 1050 so that nav is covered when a window it open but I need grid masks to be < 1050 when loading records so the mask for the grid doesn't overlay the top nav when a user is scrolled right down below the fold.

Example of the grid mask problem attached. Easy in Ext 3 as the grid mask was part of the grid and destroyed itself.

Bump. Anyone have any insight on how the mask z-index can be manipulated on a case-by-case basis?
