View Full Version : Chrome Console Error - Error in event handler....

9 May 2013, 2:25 AM
Does any one saw this issue ?
I see this on my chrome console sometimes.
When I see this issue. ??
Whenever any ext js control doesn't function as expected, the first thing that we do is to check the console for errors. But the console will not show any error. At that point if I access the control multiple times say I click a wrongly working button 10 times continuously I see this error on my console.

Error in event handler for 'undefined': IndexSizeError: DOM Exception 1 Error: Index or size was negative, or greater than the allowed value.

That's not an error I'm familiar with. Are you able to reproduce the error with a code snippet and share that code for me / the community to review with you by chance?

I am also getting same error, 'Uncaught Error: IndexSizeError: DOM Exception 1' in chrome and firefox I am getting '
IndexSizeError: Index or size is negative or greater than the allowed amount'.

I got this error when I do rowspan and colspan with table layout.

Just run below code you get error.

Ext.create('Ext.panel.Panel', {
title: 'Table Layout',
width: 500,
height: 300,
layout: {
type: 'table',
columns: 2
defaults: {
bodyStyle: 'padding:20px'
items: [{
html: 'Cell A content'
html: 'Cell B content'
html: 'Cell C content',
// cellCls: 'highlight',
rowspan: 3, // Because of rowspan 3 if you change to 2 it will work
colspan: 2
html: 'Cell D content'
html: 'Cell E content'
renderTo: Ext.getBody()

Because of rowspan 3 or more getting error if you change to rowspan 2 it will work.

I have check in following versions extjs - 4.1.3 / extjs-4.2.1.

Please help to get fix this issue.

I encountered the same problem as yours, and solved it by referencing this link:

The IIS7 needs to support ASP, hope it works for you, too.
