I updated to 4.2.1 and tested your code. It's ok, but after then, I change the store to define->create. I cannot get proxy correctly.
see code below

var myData = [
['3m Co',71.72,0.02,0.03,'9/1 12:00am'],

I see.
Out of curiosity can you just set enablePaging (http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/4.2.1/#!/api/Ext.data.proxy.Memory-cfg-enablePaging) directly on a memory proxy? That was introduced in 4.1.2 and I wonder if it makes the ux obsolete now (admittedly I've not dived into the ux to see what all it offers)?

Here's an example to show it all wired up:
http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/4.2.1/extjs-build/examples/build/KitchenSink/ext-theme-neptune/#sliding-pager
