View Full Version : Creating an app or "main menu"-style menu in ExtJS

Is there a way to create a menu that looks and acts like the main menu in a native app? I presume this is possible, since Sencha Architect has such a menu, and is built on ExtJS.

Putting it a different way, I want something that looks like http://dev.sencha.com/deploy/ext-4.0.1/examples/menu/menus.html , but instead of button instances on the toolbar, I want menuitem instances. However, Sencha Architect doesn't let me drag menuitem instances onto a toolbar.

That is to say, something like this (from Google Docs):

How do I go about doing this in ExtJS?

How do you like this:
Note: it is for 4.1. 4.2 will need some tweaks in styles.

That looks pretty close. I had tried that approach (buttons for the top-level menu items) before, but my styling skills are deficient, and I couldn't get the buttons to look like menu items.

No, this is not buttons on a toolbar, it is a rotated Ext.menu.Menu.
