All,

The subject problem occurs in both Chrome and IE8 with Ext JS 4.2.1. The combo-box is inside a panel with width 48 & layout hbox (or fit), but I have to specify width 44 on the combo-box in order to avoid truncation of its right border.

Also, among the elements, I observe that this 44 width is applied to a table nested 2 levels deep below the panel, but the input field nested in a table one level below that has style="width:100%" resulting in pixel width 48px. Please see code snippet below.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Ext.create('Ext.panel.Panel', {
renderTo: <id-of-my-table-td>,
width: 48,
height: 22,
frame: false,
margin: '0 0 5 0',
layout: {

type: 'hbox'

},
border: false,
items: [

comboBox

]

})

...where...
var comboBox = new ExtComboBox.DefaultComboBox(config);
var config = {
width: 44,
maxLength: 4

}

Please create a working example using our fiddle:

Not sure what you have in mind with over nesting your combo.

Thanks for your response. Admittedly, I don't have an example yet.

FYI, the said nesting of table elements is occurring entirely among the elements generated by Ext JS. Debugging options, e.g. Chrome, appear to be limited. Any suggestion(s) are appreciated.
