Description:

An unnecessary horizontal scroll bar is shown for the grid and will never go away. This problem is specific to Classic and Gray theme and there's no problem if you switch to Neptune.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

Create a container with accordion as its layout.
Add a panel as the child of container with vbox layout.
Add a grid as the child of panel with flex set to 1.
Add a column to grid with flex set to 1.
Here's a fiddle (https://fiddle.sencha.com/#fiddle/45h) to show the problem.

The result that was expected:

The scroll bar is unwanted.

The result that occurs instead:

The scroll bar won't go away.

Thanks for the report and test case. This issue seems to have been fixed in 4.2.2, which I confirmed with your code.

This is the second time I am told so. It's a pitty 4.2.2 is not available in GPL.

Hello folks, I also facing the same problem with Extjs 4.2.2(Grid shows unwanted horizontal scroll bar) . If so the bug is fixed what will be the solution for test case given by Mehran . I think Extjs 4.2.2 still has this bug and not yet resolved. Thanks In advance

I tested mehran's test code with 4.2.2 and it behaved as expected -- no horizontal scrollbar. Are you getting different results, Alhuck?

I have a different scenario which is not exactly like Mehran's but while trying with different layouts like panel with border layout and having gridPanel as an items with anchor layout, then having a grid inside grid panel items with anchor : '75% -3' and also the grid columns have flex property 1. But the same scenario with Extjs 4.0.7 version works perfectly as expected(without unwanted horizontal scroll bar ) but not with 4.2.2.

Right now I am getting an unwanted horizontal scroll bar in my grid with 4.2.2, If its not a bug what are the general things to see in order to rectify it!!!

Thanks In advance

Taking another look, I was indeed able to recreate this issue using Firefox 27. That said, the issue does not appear in the latest nightly release of 4.2.3. Same results for both Firefox and Chrome. This explains your results, but I still don't believe there is a bug to file here. ExtJS 4.2.3 will also be a support-only release, but my understanding is that these fixes will be part of ExtJS 5 when it releases, which will be public.

So how can i get rid of this unwanted horizontal scroll bar with extjs 4.2.2 version itself? It seems that fix with 4.2.2 is not working for my scenario.

Do you have any other suggestions to get rid of this unwanted horizontal scroll bar ?

Thanks !!!

Right you are! I'm going to move this thread to the Ext 5: Bugs forum and file this.

Apparently, this bug was NOT fixed and is still present in 6.0.2 when classic theme is used.
[Can't test with 5.1.2 because 5.1.2 js fiddle is broken.]

This bug was filed long before Ext JS 6.x was released, so it was never checked against that version. If this is still occurring in 5.x I'll reopen the ticket, but if just 6.x, please file post a new bug report. Thanks!
