Does anyone know when the official 3.1.0 will be release?

We don't typically specify exact release dates, but it is our intention to release 3.1.0 final within two months of the beta release.

It's been 6 weeks with no update to the Beta. Do things still look good? Something might come out in 2 weeks? Or maybe another build on the support site?

Any updates about this ?

Support portal gets builds on a nightly basis - there should be a nightly there for just about every day, at least when merges come through.

Our focus is on completeness rather than on a specific date, and there are still a handful of issues we'd like to address before we freeze and test a build without changing it. We also have a handful of customers who have told us that they will get us test cases so that we can fix an issue that they are facing before we ship the final 3.1.0, but we haven't heard back yet...

I'm very sorry for the question, but... any updates on 3.1 release date?

Can we expect GXT 3.1 will be released before Fall 2014?

I'm asking, because our team is at the point where we have to make strategic decision about next major release of our product - whether it will be based on GWT 2.5 / GXT 3.0.x or GWT 2.6 / GXT 3.1.

Thank you.

@ikolomiet: we are using 3.1 beta and found some bugs that are fixed in SVN (maybe beta2 soon). Everything seems pretty stable thus far (using Classic theme) and we are preparing for internal release of our software using latest SVN build (only for support license owners) for further testing. Upgrading from GXT 3.0 to 3.1 beta was very easy. GWT 2.5.1 -> GWT 2.6.1-rc2 was a bit more work. Performance is pretty good compared to 3.0 (but that might also be because of the GWT upgrade). We are using GWT 2.5.1 and GXT 3.0 in production for quite some time and might even be the best solution for you and your team. Upgrading when 3.1 hits final should be no hassle. You can question me any time you like on the forum/message if you need a bit of support.

@Colin: at the very least drop beta2 any time soon please :D! Fixes some cosmetic problems for most beta testers.

Thank you!

I'm very pleased to announce that GXT 3.1.0 is here! With 120 bugs fixed from the beta (thanks for all the bug reports!) and a few new features in the two months since it went out, you can find it in maven central, in our own maven repository, and from our downloads page!

Thanks for sharing your experience!

I probably wasn't precise in my comment. Current version of our product is based on GWT2.5/GXT2.3&GXT3.0. For the next version we already re-worked old GXT2-based code for GXT3.0 (we know the pain), and now consider upgrade to GWT2.6. Our testing shows that we can do it with minimal changes in our code and GXT 3.1 beta.

In order to make commitment we need to know if GXT 3.1 release will happen within next few month otherwise we won't have enough time before our release.

Hi, Colin, the GXT 3.1 release states "GXT 3.1 introduces the new Theme Builder (a new tool for theming GXT applications), the Neptune theme built entirely using the Theme Builder, and adds support for GWT 2.6."

The GWT 2.6.1 has just been released. Are you aware of any issue for GXT 3.1 to work with GWT 2.6.1 instead of GWT 2.6?

Thanks!

2.6.1 is a bug fix release and similar to 2.6.0 and has to my knowledge no impact on GXT 3.1

sbloomers is correct - all last week we tested with GWT 2.6.1-rc2 to make sure we'd be okay, and found no issues. We passed along our lack of bugs to Dan Kurka and Thomas Broyer who were managing the GWT 2.6.1 release as our own green light for it - since they shipped on Friday, it looks like there were only very minor changes made: https://gwt.googlesource.com/gwt/+/2.6.1-rc2..2.6.1/
