View Full Version : Text won't display in panel due to css x-inner-box overflow

I have a container with three panels. The first is a grid panel (works fine) and the second/third are simple panels with html template to display formatted text.

I can see the text in the div (source) but it does not display. Looking at the style information for one of these panels I can see a section: inherited from div#container-1025-innerCt.x-box-inner

It contains:
.x-box-inner {

overflow: hidden;

If I deselect overflow my text appears but it is checked by default. Yes, I do want scrollbars but why would "overflow" hide my text?

My first observation was enabling/disabling position had the same effect as overflow.

I then found this link that described that Update() would affect the inner box with hbox or vbox

I modified my layout to use auto and it now works. Text is displayed and scrollbars work.
