View Full Version : [noob] Why is Ext.define undefined yet the 3.4.0 docs show such a function?

On http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/3.4.0/#!/api/Ext, I see that there is a Ext.define, with example code:

Ext.define('My.awesome.Class', {
someProperty: 'something',

someMethod: function(s) {
alert(s + this.someProperty);

But in my Chrome Dev Tools Console, when I type

> Ext.define

And I do have ExtJS 3.4.0 loaded (via adapter/ext/ext-base-debug.js), as when I just type Ext ...
> Ext
Object {version: "3.4.0", versionDetail: Object, apply: function, SSL_SECURE_URL: "about:blank", isStrict: false…}

Thanks for helping a new ExtJS developer get his bearings :-)

PS I'm using 3.4.0 since we're using Adobe CQ/AEM 5.6.1 which has this built-in.
