Use the yuicompressor:

http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/compressor/

And also GZIP the files.

By doing that I got the 'alpha' to about 18k including gavin's categorised view support. I also got the ExtJS 2.0 ext-all.js to about 135k.

The good thing about yuicompressor is you can put it in a batch file and if you have web DAV going (using a program like webDrive) you can automate the compressor process.

We do provide a compressed version extnd-all.js with our release that uses the same methods the ext core release does.
