Hi,

beforechange (http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/4.0.7/#!/api/Ext.toolbar.Paging-event-beforechange)( this, page, eOpts )
Fires just before the active page is changed. Return false to prevent the active page from being changed.
Available since: 2.3.0
Parameters

this : Ext.toolbar.Paging (http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/4.0.7/#!/api/Ext.toolbar.Paging)

page : Number (http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/4.0.7/#!/api/Number)The page number that will be loaded on change


eOpts : Object (http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/4.0.7/#!/api/Object)The options object passed to Ext.util.Observable.addListener (http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/4.0.7/#!/api/Ext.util.Observable-method-addListener).

we have overridden the beforechange event
not able to get the page Parameter in the method

when we alert(page)
it is not showing the page to which the page will be directed to

Did you place the listener on the plugin definition? Are you able to recreate this in a test case?
