View Full Version : form field in dialog no focus?

30 Apr 2007, 1:02 AM

I have a dialog box (same as the layout dialog from examples). Inside the left panel I have a text field. The problem is, when I click to give focus to the text field, there is no visual to show focus (no flashing pipe/cursor), although I can enter text, so the focus is there.

Any idea why there is not visual focus on forms inside a dialog? could it be the zindex?

Note that this seems to effect FF2 (IE 6 works fine).

Thanks Brian, I did runs some searches but failed to search with the most obvious words.

I tested a few of these suggestions and managed to get one to work with some changes.

Form Field:

<div id="form-add-category"></div> <!-- form field -->

// text field cursor hack for dialog
var inputDiv = document.getElementById('form-add-category');
inputDiv.style.display = 'none';
inputDiv.style.overflow = 'auto';
setTimeout(function() {inputDiv.style.display = 'block';}, 10);
// end hack

For some reason I did not need a wrapper div as suggested, referencing the text field directly works fine for me.
