hi , the ext package is good , but the size is so huge and take forever to load, i am wondering how you guys solve this issue

currently it take 20sec to just load a page , i am working on recompile apache to add mod_deflate, wondering if you guys has any other suggestions?

There can be that your apache's configuration (no-cache in http headers or other stuff) do not allow a browser to cache js files? Look in apache configuration.

The Apache DEFLATE filter is your best bet. Make sure to start by adding only .js files to the default filter configuration as it tends to mess up .pdf and .xls on some browsers. Then try adding .css, .gif and .jpg.


You should see ext-all.js down to about 125KB.

You can also build your own (http://extjs.com/download/build) Ext file. But regardless of JS file size, it should cache on the client, so if this is happening after the first page view you definitely have a configuration issue.
